To date, no medicine for coronavirus has been made. Those who have recovered from the virus have recovered only from their immunity. Many experts believe that this disease is bound to happen to everybody once. The one who has good immunity will be saved and the one who doesn't have will not survive. This means that our body immunity is a vaccine of coronavirus, so all our focus should be on strengthening our immunity level.
If you want to defeat this pandemic, then it is important for us to learn about things that enhance immunity and the things that weaken immunity.
Things That Enhance Your Immunity
1. Yoga
Yoga is a combination of physical, mental, and spiritual workout. It not only helps in reducing your mental stress but also boosts your physical strength and immunity.
2. Sports or Physical Activity
There are many sports like Swimming, Badminton, Football, etc that involves a lot of physical activity. Apart from sports, you can also do running, stretching, aerobic exercise, or dancing. These activities will strengthen your heart, bones, and immune system.
3. Eat Homemade Food
Eating homemade food is a lot cheaper as compared to ordering food online or eating at a restaurant. It will also keep you away from food allergies and food poisoning.
4. Citrus Fruits
Citrus fruits are Oranges, Lemons, Grapefruits, Limes, etc. They are rich in Vitamin-C which has properties of Antibacterial and Antiviral. Also, they help in strengthening your immune system.
5. Indian Gooseberry
Indian Gooseberry is rich in Vitamin-C, Iron, and fiber. It helps in fighting against bacterial and fungal infections. Eating it will increase the immunity of your body that will keep you away from diseases.
6. Green Vegetables
Green vegetables like Spinach, Mustard, Fenugreek, Broccoli, Spinach, etc provide the crucial proteins and minerals to your body. They contain plenty of nutrients, which strengthen the immunity of the body.
7. Jaggery or Gud
Jaggery is not only tasty to eat but also has many medicinal properties. It keeps the body strong and active. Consuming it with milk helps to strengthen your body and makes it energetic.
8. Curd
Curd contains good bacteria that help in digesting your food and improves the immune system. It is rich in calcium which makes your bones strong.
9. Pulses
Pulses are rich in Protein, Vitamins, Minerals, and fiber which boosts your immunity. They are also found to possess antioxidant and anti-carcinogenic properties.
10. Manage your stress level
You can lower your stress levels through yoga, meditation, exercise, getting enough sleep, listening to relaxing songs, writing a diary, talking to friends, etc. Reducing stress levels balances the stress hormones called Cortisol which in turn improves your immune system.
Things that weaken your immunity
1. Refined Oil
Refined oil is refined by chemicals that are harmful to us. According to research, the nutritious elements of them are destroyed by refining the food items. Therefore it is advisable to use oil in pure form.
2. Fine flour
Fine flour is used in making pasta, naan, bread, burger, pizza, snacks, and many other things. It lacks in fiber and slows down the digestion process. It doesn't have any nutritional value and can weaken your immune system.
3. Sugar
It is found that consuming too much sugar reduces the effectiveness of white blood cells in your immune system. The people with high blood sugar have a weak immune system and are less capable to fight against infections like coronavirus.
4. Soft drinks
Soft drinks have artificial food coloring, artificial flavors, and artificial sweeteners. They also have excess sugar content that can cause weakness and weakens immunity.
5. Fast food
Fast foods generally have high-calorie content. Without enough exercise, this calorie can cause obesity. This can increase the chance of High blood pressure and Heart-related diseases. This will overall weaken the immune system.
6. Alcohol
Consuming excess amounts of alcohol damages the cells that fight against bacteria and infections. This can also cause other health problems like liver disease, high blood pressure, and heart diseases.
