Most people work more on their physical fitness. They want to look attractive from outside. But for overall wellbeing, mental fitness is also equally important as physical fitness. It is important to feel good from inside and to achieve this you need to follow some basic principles. Here are the top 10 principles or ways that you can use to heal yourself from within.


1. Sleep early

It is advisable to sleep before 11pm to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Have a fixed time of sleeping and waking up unless there is an emergency. Keep a water bottle with you so that you can drink when feeling thirsty and you don't have to move out of your bed.

After having dinner you can go for a walk. This will digest most of the food you consumed and prevents fat buildup. And, don't use mobile phones before going to bed. If possible switch off your phone or put it in silent mode to avoid distractions during sleep due to message tones.

If you are unable to fall asleep you can try this technique:

  • Sleep on your back (Soldier position)
  • Relax each part of your body consciously one by one (starting from your legs)
  • Focus on your heartbeat
  • Feel the pulse on your neck
  • Feel the movement of air going in from your nose to the stomach and vice versa
  • Now hold your breath for a few seconds and imagine as if you are falling from the sky

2. Be yourself

Being yourself helps you staying focus on your goals. Stop worrying about what other people think about you. Life is too short so don't waste your time thinking about what other people think about you. Know more about yourself and accept yourself the way you are. You must first accept yourself completely if you want others to accept you the way you are.

Don't be a people-pleasure. You cant make other people happy because they might have different thinking and opinion.

If you want to be yourself then you need to know more about yourself. Write down on a paper about your likes and dislikes. Don't do anything in which you are not good at and don't want to do it either. If you don't like something about yourself and you want to change it then go for it. This will boost your confidence and make you stress-free.

4. Eat healthy food

Healthy food is essential for maintaining a healthy body. Don't consume heavy meals. Instead consume light meals more frequently to reduce the fat buildup. Eat foods that are rich in fiber and minerals like fruits, vegetables, nuts, yogurt, mushroom, etc. Avoid unhealthy foods like red meat, pizzas, sugary drinks, fast foods, french fries, etc.

Eating healthy foods regularly reduces the risk of heart diseases and diabetes by controlling cholesterol and fat. This boosts your immunity and helps you in weight loss.


5. Exercise

Make a routine of doing 30-60 minutes of daily exercise. You can do any type of exercise like walking, running, cycling, aerobics, stretching, etc. You can also play any outdoor sports like badminton, football, cricket, etc depending on your interest. Don't do it in a noisy place because you will not be able to focus your breathing. Find a quiet place and then do it. It is recommended to do breathing exercises while sitting straight, but you also can do it while sleeping or standing. But don't do it immediately after eating your meal.
